The stuff dreams are made of!!!

I recently saw the Indian blockbuster "Rock On!" and started doing a whole lot of soul searching. Is it really feasible to 'live' your dreams and make a living doing something you are passionate about? Most of us have dreams as we are growing up but these dreams lose their shine and we get 'realistic'. We start compromising so we can live up to our parents' ideals and deliver the responsibilities that come with an adult life ....be it a compromise on a 'major' so it gets us a better job or a compromise on a 'job' so it gets us a better pay package .. in the process giving up a bit of our 'real' selves and sacrificing those dreams and passions... I find it hard to remember what I did with my free time when I had it... was it reading books, or listening to a favorite number, or penning down my thoughts? But then the ever optimistic side of me, the believer, just like the protagonists in the movie, takes over and believes that life offers everyone a second chance of sorts and its for us to grab it!!! And so I hum along my favorite Lucky Ali number.... Jo Dhoonde Wo Sabko Mile... and believe that all our dreams do come true in the end.. His ways may be different than our plans... but then thats the stuff dreams are made of!!!

My Season My Reason

Let me start this blog by saying a word or two about its title. My name Ritu is Hindi for the word 'Season'. And since every season comes with a reason, so does this blog. This post marks the beginning of my journey in blogging and the start of a great new year complete with its resolution :)

I have started 2009 with a mantra from Warren Buffet "I don't worry too much about pointing fingers at the past. I operate on the theory that every saint has a past, every sinner has a future." I find it full of hope and forgiveness, both very powerful sentiments to move onwards and upwards in life. While forgiveness helps one make his/her peace with the past; hope provides the strength to continue making a difference and making progress. And 2009 marks my journey to continue to believe and forgive 'coz whatever goes around, comes around!!!
